Acupuncture and Fertility PDF Print E-mail

Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs have been used to support fertility for several thousand years. There are very well established methods that are useful by themselves, and are very helpful in aiding many modern reproductive techniques such as: In-vitro Fertilization (IVF), and Intra-uterine Insemination (IUI).

What should you expect during your first visit?

During your first visit, I will conduct anImage
in-depth interview and exam, which will consist of asking numerous questions about your condition as well as a complete health history, and relevant questions about aspects of your health to help build up a complete picture and to put your condition into holistic context. If I feel that Acupuncture will be effective for you, a customized treatment will be formulated. Your first visit will take about 90 minutes, with subsequent visits lasting 45-60 minutes.

Also, please make sure to bring in any and all tests results and lab work. Most importantly, tests with your FSH, LH, estradiol and progesterone levels.

There are several conditions that often respond well to Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs.

The Basic Treatment Plan:

Treatment plans vary to each individual, but in general, most people need a minimum of 3 to 6 months of weekly Acupuncture to help adjust any imbalances. In general, I like to have people wait until after this time to undergo any assisted reproductive procedures. You are going to go through a lot during those procedures, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. So being in balance before beginning is going to add to your success rate.

However, if you are scheduled to start with assisted reproduction sooner, Acupuncture is still going to be helpful. By reducing your stress level, helping reduce the side effects of many medications, and help your body stay in balance to support the uterus and help you carry to full-term and give birth to a healthy, happy baby!
